Bird Drawing Class, with Robert Amaral
Friday, April 13, 2018 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Dungeness River Audubon Center
Join artist/instructor Robert Amaral in this workshop where he will focus on such fundamentals as seeing the bird’s basic shapes, progressing from simple to complex forms, relating proportions and capturing the posture of our birds. There will be drawing demonstrations and you will draw birds from the Dungeness River Audubon Center’s extensive collection of mounts. All skill levels are welcome. Enhance your enjoyment of birds by drawing them!
Participants will bring their own materials recommended by Robert Amaral as follows:
Class Materials List
Below is a list of the materials we will be using. If you already have a sketchbook or ANY of the other materials listed, then do NOT purchase what is on the list, however, I do want you to have the variety of pencils for the class.
• Pencils: one each of these – HB, 2B, 6B and a Non-Photo Blue pencil (it does not reproduce when copied/photographed).
• Pencil Sharpener
• Erasers: Kneaded eraser and Magic Rub eraser
• Sketch Book: Any sketch book or sketch pad you already have will be fine. The paper should be smooth grained, not rough or textured. Newsprint pads are NOT suitable. The size should be 9” x 12” or larger.
Again, if you already have a sketch book that you are using, bring that. We will be using simple materials, but if you have favorite drawing materials – papers, pencils, etc. – that you like using, you are welcome to bring them!
Optional Materials: Prismacolor pencils, watercolor pencils, etc.
If you have questions about the materials or the class, I can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org
